Part of the fun of World Thinking Day is paying for your snack and swap from each country. The girls all have pockets loaded with nickels and off they go to shop. At the end of the event the money is collected and donated to a preselected charity.
With an average of 300 attending Girl Scouts there are quite a lot of nickels to be collected. Since our booth was going with everything Kawaii and Kokeshi, I scoured the internet and found this awesome Kokeshi doll.
She couldn’t be more perfect!
I just printed her, cut her out leaving a small white boarder and then glued her to a piece of heavy card stock. Her little hands make the perfect spot to add nickel detail. LOVE!
Next I wrapped an empty large size oatmeal container with some light blue wrapping paper I had on hand. Then I used my scissors to punch a hole in the lid for the coins to drop through. And finally, I glued the Kokeshi doll to the front.
So easy and so very cute. The Girl Scouts are going to LOVE this!
